One of the most unique cities in Poland, Bielsko-Biała captivates with its character, landscapes, exceptional architecture, and the openness and warmth of its residents. In this charming city located at the foot of the Little Beskids and the Silesian Beskids, you will find picturesque hiking trails, interesting monuments, and a beautiful old town square.
Beautiful historic tenement houses, the old town square with a charming market, museums, theater – these are just a few of the many attractions the city offers. Proximity to tourist towns: Cieszyn, Wisła, Szczyrk, Ustroń - a convenient place for gatherings.
The earliest mentions of Bielsko can be found in a 1312 document written by Duke Mieszko III of Cieszyn. Intensive development, a constantly expanding area, and the influx of new residents have made Bielsko grow stronger year by year. A great boom occurred at the beginning of the second half of the 18th century when Bielsko became one of the most rapidly developing cities, and due to its unique architecture, it was called the "Little Vienna.". Numerous foreign guests arrived with new ideas, causing the city to develop not only industrially but also culturally.
Bielsko-Biała is the perfect place for engaging in various sports and recreational activities. Over 30% of the city is located within the landscape parks: Beskid Mały Landscape Park and Beskid Śląski Landscape Park. They contain numerous hiking and biking trails, several reserves, lakes, and streams.
Today, the city can boast not only a thriving industry, numerous historic monuments (the Sułkowski Dukes' Castle, the neo-Renaissance town hall, the railway station built in the style of Austrian stations), and a unique atmosphere conducive to organizing many cultural events, but also a well-prepared tourist infrastructure. The proximity of the Silesian Beskids offers a unique opportunity to enjoy not only a dense network of hiking trails but also numerous ski slopes and bike paths of varying difficulty. The extensive transportation network provides a simple and pleasant commute towards Katowice, Wrocław, Kraków, Szczyrk, and Żywiec.
